Valentine's Day

Okay, I know this is a little late for a Valentine's Day blog, but I wanted to blog about my Valentine's Day ever since V-D but didn't have a chance till now.

It was interesting to say the least. I told Jeff I didn't want or need anything for V-D because:
A. I was going to the Leadership Conference in Grandville at the Res Life church there for 4 days.
B. We are going to Acquire The Fire at the end of this month.
C. I am going to Africa on a missions trip March 27 - April 7!
And D. I know Jeff loves me and I don't need flowers, candy or a card to tell me that!

We did plan to go out to dinner and the movies the Friday after V-D, but I was sick! Go figure. Trisha, Ben, Karlie, Derek, Brandon and Chelsea went out though. They had a good time I was told.

Anyway, it was weird for me in a way, not to want or need anything for V-D. It's the first time in my life, that I can remember, that I didn't have a 'need' to get flowers, candy or a card on Feb. 14. I guess I'm just feeling so complete in my life now, with God, family, friends and job, that I don't need those things to 'feel loved'. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying those who do love to get those things, that they are somehow incomplete or something, it's just that with all the financial stuff going on right now in our lives, I didn't feel I needed them. And I'm not saying that I never want them either! It was just this one V-D that I didn't have to have them! I think I've grown up some. HA!!!

  2. That's awesome that you didn't have the 'need' for anything. That's cool.
